Mystery Church

Here is a picture of a church we came upon as we were traveling along a road near the Rio Grande river. Way out in the middle of nowhere. It is southwest of Mission, TX between the railroad tracks and the river.

It sits on top of a small hill and is surrounded by a fence and the gates are closed tightly. No information anywhere as to its identity. It is quite striking in its location as it dominates the surrounding country. I am sure that was one of the reasons for the decision to build it here. I have searched the internet and cannot come up with a name for this church.

Wow, you took a great picture of it. I like the composition. Surely you'll eventually find something on it. It looks like at one time it would have been a very important part of a community. I love old archeticture. Really nice photo.
