World Birding Center
Barbara on the Hawk tower
These are Mexican Pheasants
The World Birding Center is located within walking distance of our current campground in Mission, TX. Yesterday was a good day for it so we walked over and went through the center. It is a state park really covering 700 acres. All of the birds are watched in their natural habitat and are not caged at all.
They do have feeders out at various spots along a road that runs through the park. You are taken around the park on a tram and the guide gives information about the birds and the park as you progress. One of the stops is the hawk tower. We got off and went up the tower and tried to see the hawks. No luck! In fact the birds were absent for most of the trip except for some Mexican pheasants that we saw at the entrance feeding station.
